Fall in Love with your Master Bedroom: Get inspired with these Beautiful Master Bedroom Designs and Décor Ideas
As welcoming as we want all of our rooms to be, the master bedroom should be even more so-a place focused on our comfort and pleasure in every detail. It is the room, more than any other, that allows us to take refuge from the world around us and return to ourselves. It is our most private space, and should be arranged to take care of us, rather than just be a crash pad or an over crammed home office, exercise room or storage dump. Below are tips and tricks for master bedroom designs you will love.
Having what you love around you is important, but forcing this room to work double duty diminishes its ability to bring you the sense of peace that it should. It can be nice to bring your laptop into bed but don’t set up your whole office here. Rolling out a yoga mat is fine but we don’t suggest parking an elliptical.
This is a room to indulge yourself. We don’t believe in skimping on the bed or the linens and pillows. A beautifully made bed can make us happy.
Upholstered Headboard. A four-poster bed draped with fabric certainly is the most dramatic and enveloping, but without the steady hand and practiced eye of a professional, a canopied bed is also the most complicated to pull off. Upholstered headboards look tailored and refined, and are super comfy for leaning against while reading in bed.
How High? Thirty inches off the floor to the top of the mattress feels wonderfully high.
Straight On. Do not angle your bed into a corner or float it out in the middle of the room. It’s a bed, not a boat.
Facing Where? The feng-shui-ers say the bed should not face the door, but if your bed is the prettiest thing in the room, why not see it when you walk in? If you’ve got a great view or a fireplace, then by all means, take their advice.
Wake to Pretty. Make sure the first thing you see when you pry open your eyes is something pleasing, like a piece of art or a beautiful view, or a nice mirror, rather than a straight shot into the closet or the bathroom.
Bottom of the Bed Perch. To complete the cocoon, the empty spot at the foot of the bed is the perfect place for a small piece of furniture to sit on. This is particularly true if your bed faces the door, as it is nice to see something pretty at the boring end of the bed when you walk into the room. A small-scale loveseat, two small-scale chairs, a single long bench, or a pair of benches, small ottomans or stools make excellent punctuations, places to perch or even fling your clothes onto after a long day.
The Bedside Table. There are really no rules-a bedside table could be a dresser, a low set of open shelves, or even a square sofa side table. If you only have a small night table, you might need or want to add another to handle overflow. This trick of tables looking as if they’re begetting smaller tables is very stylish, layered, practical, and chic; otherwise known as nesting tables.
For instance, if your table surface can’t contain your large pile of books or stacks of magazines, a little occasional table may be just the answer. When we need to call in for reinforcements, we pull in a low stool and park it in front of the bedside table, this can be a footstool, a bench, or even a chair. I think it’s really important for people to follow a budget when they look to buy bedroom decor. I also appreciate what you said about the importance of considering flooring when you look to buy bedroom decor. I’ve heard that bedroom decor prices vary more online than in most stores, I’ll have to look into it more though!
