Tips for Updating Your Dining Room
Indulge in our dining room tips! Designing a dining room can be an exciting project because it’s an excuse to add some elegance and sophistication for when all of those special holiday occasions come around. On that note, check out these 7 helpful tips on how to spice up your dining room and ultimately show off your design “chops” to all of your dining guests!
Incorporate Pattern
Not only will a patterned fabric give your space some needed substance, but a printed rug has a better chance of camouflaging those foreseen Merlot spills!
Add Antiques
Hold on to those antique chairs! For an updated look, you can incorporate them by mixing design styles to achieve an eclectic theme. Or update the chairs themselves with a good ol’ fashioned paint job!
Mixed Seating
Don’t be afraid to switch it up! Substituting chairs for a bench or large host chairs will surely add a pop factor to your seating area!
Make an Entrance
Frame your extravagant dining space with a sculpted archway or sliding barn door, so that guests will be blown away before they even make their way to the appetizers!
Add Height
Make your dining room larger than meets the eye! Leaner mirrors and floor-to-ceiling drapery or wallcovering will be sure to give that illusion.
Create a Focal Point
A statement piece, like a chandelier or artwork (or both!) will give your dining room the attention it deserves.
Light and Linen
If you’re looking for more of a light and airy feel, then soften your space with linen tablecloths, for a nice flowy element, or sheer curtain panels to welcome in all that natural light.
And there you have it folks. Now that you have the knowledge to spice up your dining space, you’ll be hosting dinner parties in no time!
