Finding great art pieces can be an extremely difficult task. Since art, unlike furniture and lighting, is purely decorative, there is a lot of pressure for you to really love it. Artwork is insanely personal and sometimes can be expensive. That’s why I have rounded up my 10 favorite online sources for affordable art to take some of the pressure off.
1. Minted
Minted sells limited edition prints from dozens of independent artists. Regular design and art challenges are held for designers and artists all around the world. After the public votes on which submissions to produce, Minted sells the winning entries as fine paper products and art and every purchase supports the independent artist.
2. Society6
Society6 uses a non-traditional approach and allows artists to showcase their work by offering it as prints, phone cases, home decor, clothing, and more.
3. The Animal Print Shop
The Animal Print Shop is an online gallery and store created by independent artist, Sharon Montrose. All of her portraits are of live animals and are available either framed or unframed.
4. Tappan Collective
Tappan Collective is an online platform created by two LA friends, Chelsea Neman, an artist, and Jordan Klein, an art historian. The Tappan Collective features modern photography and paintings that connects emerging artists with emerging collectors.
5. Etsy
Etsy is an online marketplace that helps millions of people around the world connect to make, sell, and buy unique goods. Etsy has definitely emerged as an awesome place to buy original artwork.
6. Print Collection
Another great source for finding affordable art is the Print Collection. The Print Collection offers an array of architectural photography and posters, old maps, as well as new prints.
7. One Kings Lane
Along with its amazing furniture and home decor, One Kings Lane also regularly features tons of art vendors, making it a great source for contemporary and vintage works.
8. 20×200
20×200 is a project that was relaunched by Jen Bekman, aimed at making art collecting more affordable. 20×200 has a large selection of illustrations, drawings, prints of paintings, and photography.
