Design Assistant
Gabrielle Delaney joined the Leedy Interiors team in February of 2017 as an intern eager to sharpen her skills in the growing residential interior design field. Before LI, Gabrielle was initially studying Elementary/Special Education & Psychology at Marist College, but always had a deep passion for art and design since she was young. Her elementary and high school art teachers opened her eyes to a new way of communication: speaking through art. Learning that art had a pivotal impact on people’s personal lifestyles, whether it was affected through an emotional response or a physical benefit, Gabrielle was intrigued from the start.
After finishing her freshman year at Marist and earning an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, she decided to make a change and follow her heart. This led her to graduate with honors, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Being thrust into the fast paced city life gave Gabrielle the opportunity to experience the professional side of the interior design industry at the reputable D&D Building, while also gaining inspiration from the historic architecture and museums of Manhattan. While studying at FIT, Gabrielle also had the privilege of working under Katie Leede of Katie Leede & Company Studio. Gabrielle quickly honed the craft and fell in love with residential design as she assisted Katie in developing custom furniture and creating unique designs for her Holland & Sherry textiles and wallcoverings line.
Today, working as a Design Assistant at Leedy Interiors, Gabrielle is beginning to take on her own design projects and is determined to provide clients with an improved way of life, both functionally and aesthetically! Gabrielle believes that the biggest reward of her job is seeing the smiles on the clients’ faces, and knowing that we played a part in transforming their house into a home.
