Indoor Plants You Can Buy Online: Our Favorite Amazon Shop Live Plants
We are firm believers in incorporating plants into our designs in order to bring our clients’ spaces to life. They’re great to look at AND they improve indoor air quality! We love to frequent our local nurseries and markets to explore the latest greenery options. However, we recently discovered Amazon’s Live Plant Shop and we just had to tell you all about their collection of indoor plants!
The first plus is that Amazon delivers live indoor plants straight to your door. What could be better than that? Another great aspect of this online shop is that they offer a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and species for affordable prices. Zz Plant
Botanical Name: Zamioculcas zamiifolia
Care: Low light. Only water is soil is dry.
Appearance: waxy, green with feather-like leaflets
Growth: 1 to 2 feet tall
Chinese Evergreen
Botanical Name: Algaonema
Care: Keep in low light. Water when soil is almost dry.
Appearance: Large two-toned leaves with varying colors: Anyanmanee Red, Pink Dalmatian, Siam, Silver Bay, or White Calcite
Growth: 2-3 feet tall
Pothos
Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum
Care: Keep in moderate to bright light. Water once the top first inch of soil dries. Avoid overwatering and use a pot with a drainage hole.
Appearance: Heart-shaped leaves that resemble vines
Growth: 4-8 feet long
Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree
Botanical Name: Ficus iyrata
Care: Keep soil moist and rotate plant every week in bright light. Yellow leaves are a sign of overwatering. Fertilize 3 times a year during spring, summer, and fall.
Appearance: Extra large wavy leaves with bare narrow middles.
Growth: 3-10 feet tall
Aloe Plant
Botanical Name: Aloe barbadensis
Care: Keep in bright light. Direct sunlight in the winter. Keep soil moist summer through fall and slightly drier in winter.
Appearance: Thin inward curving leaves with spikes on the edges.
Growth: 1-3 feet tall
Jade Plant
Botanical Name: Crassula ovata
Care: Keep in bright light. Water when the soil is almost dry.
Appearance: Small rubbery green feather-like leaves, sometimes with red tips.
Growth: 2 feet tall or less
Succulents
Care: Keep in moderate to bright light. Water when soil is dry. Make sure soil is soaked thoroughly. Succulents will stretch if they aren’t getting enough sunlight.
Appearance: Each succulent varies in shape, size, and form, mostly spherical leaves.
Growth: Less than 1 foot tall
Dragon Tree
Botanical Name: Dracaena marginata
Care: Keep soil moist and rotate plant every week in bright light. Repot in the spring.
Appearance: Cluster of dramatic, spear-shaped leaves.
Growth: Up to 6 feet tall
Snake Plant
Botanical Name: Sansevieria
Care: Keep in low to moderate light. Water when first top inch of soil is dry.
Appearance: Tall upstanding pointed leaves that range from dark to light green.
Growth: 1-3 feet tall
Rubber Plant
Botanical Name: Ficus elastica
Care: Keep in bright light. Keep soil evenly moist. Use a pot with a drainage hole. Repot in spring only when its roots fill the pot
Appearance: Large deep green leathery glossy rounded leaves. It’s top stems and under leaf can sometimes have a dark red tint.
Growth: Up to 10 feet tall
