Summer Colors Inspiration: Pantone’s Top 12 Hues Of The Season
Pantone’s Spring/Summer 2018 colors are now trending in clothing stores and homes everywhere, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our favorite color creations with you! Every season Pantone evaluates the colors in men and women’s collections at New York Fashion Week. They do this not only to report trends in clothing, but to also translate these colors into interiors as well! That’s where we come in and highlight the top color trends for this season and show you how to convey a sizzling space with these 12 summer colors. As the weather gets warmer, now is the perfect time to refresh your home or backyard with summer colors inspired by Pantone and the outdoor summer delights!
Meadowlark
Every morning in this breakfast nook is a bright one! Vibrant yellow bench cushions and green botanical pattern accents makes for a bold and lively space reminding us of the hot summer sun. Not to mention, these yellow framed windows and yellow bordered pillows give us summer color overload in the best way!
Cherry Tomato
This orangey red exudes heat and energy, reminiscent of that hot summer weather. Chango & Co. also heated things up in this bathroom by adding a crayfish wallpaper pattern, which are both fun and coastal!
Little Boy Blue
This Little Boy Blue is no longer a color just for little boys. It is quickly making a splash as one of the most popular summer colors of 2018. These modern blue dining chairs are the perfect summer addition to this rustic rooftop deck. This azure hue beautifully radiates continuity with the clear blue sky above!
Chili Oil
Spice things up a bit with this fiery dark red. Integrating this fun summer color can be as simple as switching out an old kitchen mat with this flavorful vintage runner. However, the earthy rich tone is perfect for any season!
Pink Lavender
Now we switch gears to a flowery spring shade, which is opposite of Chili Oil red because of it’s soft and romantic vibe. A daring and unexpected summer color, Pink Lavender is suitable for all those risk takers out there. Upholstering your counter stools or installing a relaxed window shade in this color will surely pop against a white kitchen.
Blooming Dahlia
It wouldn’t be a summer colors list without a beautiful blush tone. Blooming Dahlia speaks for itself with it’s subtly alluring appeal. This gray walk-in closet features floor to ceiling gray cabinets contrasted with a pop of salmon pink delight. The added tufted velvet element certainly ups the elegance factor!
Arcadia
Hinting at a retro modern vibe, this cool green summer color has an undertone of blue that simply cannot be ignored. Pairing this painted double vanity with black floor tile and brass accents balances the space without competing for a focal point.
Ultra Violet
Pantone named Ultra Violet 2018’s Color Of The Year, so it’s no doubt that this color will be showing up on outdoor porches and patios, like this one. Although many fear this distinct and complex color, it brings originality throughout the whimsical Moroccan hanging lanterns and decorative pillows. Layering other violet tints and shades seen in the curtains, ottoman, and tulips brings that extra variety and boldness.
Emperador
A new and intriguing color combo we’ve been seeing a lot this year is gray and red tones. This bedroom has a traditional theme to it, while the Emerador color mixed with warm gray adds an eclectic element that emanates strength and substance. Similar to the Chili Oil red, Emerador has more of a rich chocolate undertone that will surely feed your summer color appetite!
Almost Mauve
Don’t you want “mauve” of this dreamy pale pink color? We featured this delicate hue in our client’s guest bedroom, and with the added neutrals, this space could not look any more harmonious and luxurious. Almost Mauve really sets the tone for a good night’s sleep.
Spring Crocus
Another bright and exciting summer color, this expressive purple shade is Pink Lavender’s darker and cooler cousin. Dressing up your bathroom walls with this vivacious fuchsia will beam femininity and charm. Offsetting it with a distinguished antique style vanity will downplay the color, but will still be the star of the show!
Lime Punch
Last but not least on our list of trending summer colors, this highlighter green packs a punch! Too daring of a color to incorporate into your interiors? Be bold on the outside and update your front door paint with Lime Punch.
So, there you have it. I hope this summer color inspiration guide has inspired you to update your home with this year’s hottest summer colors, whether it be a big splash or a toe in the sand!
